Job Description of Head of AI Governance & Assurance Practice
✅ As AI moves from experimentation into the core of how businesses operate, trust has become the deciding factor in whether it succeeds. We are looking for a Head of AI Governance & Assurance Practice to build and lead our capability in Dubai.
✅ In this role you will define how Systems Limited and its clients design, deploy and monitor AI responsibly. You will turn fast-moving regulation and emerging best practice into frameworks that are rigorous enough for legal and compliance teams and practical enough for engineers. You will shape our market position in responsible AI and advise senior leaders on one of the most important issues in technology today.
Key Responsibilities of Head of AI Governance & Assurance Practice
✅ Build and lead the AI Governance & Assurance practice, including its offerings, methodologies and delivery model.
✅ Design and maintain AI governance frameworks, policies and standards aligned to the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF and sector-specific regulations, tailored to each client’s context.
✅ Assess AI models and systems by critically reviewing model cards, evaluation reports and risk documentation.
✅ Design and run red-team protocols to test AI systems for safety, bias, robustness and misuse.
✅ Advise clients on platform-native safety controls such as Azure AI Content Safety, AWS Bedrock Guardrails and Google Vertex AI safety filters, and on open-source evaluation tools such as Giskard and DeepEval.
✅ Author clear, authoritative policies and frameworks that legal, risk and technical teams all trust.
✅ Partner with engineering, legal, compliance and business leaders to embed model risk management and responsible AI into the AI lifecycle.
✅ Act as a thought leader and trusted advisor to executives, regulators and industry forums.
Qualification Required for Head of AI Governance & Assurance Practice
✅ Education
✅ Bachelor’s degree (a postgraduate degree in a relevant field is a plus)
✅ Experience
✅ 6–12+ years in AI governance, model risk, compliance or responsible AI roles
✅ Experience designing red-team protocols for AI systems
✅ Skills & Knowledge
✅ Working knowledge of AI regulation (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, sector-specific frameworks) and how to tailor it to different organizations
✅ Enough technical depth to critically assess a model card or evaluation report
✅ Familiarity with platform-native AI safety tooling: Microsoft Azure AI Content Safety, AWS Bedrock Guardrails and Google Vertex AI safety filters
✅ Strong written policy and framework authorship that earns the trust of legal and technical teams
✅ Good to have: hands-on experience with open-source evaluation tooling such as Giskard and DeepEval
