Job Description of Materials and Corrosion Engineer
✅ We are seeking an experienced Materials and Corrosion Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity and reliability of assets by providing expert support in material selection, corrosion control, and failure analysis. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize asset life and reduce maintenance costs while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities of Materials and Corrosion Engineer
✅ Provide technical expertise in material selection, corrosion mitigation, and coating systems.
✅ Conduct corrosion assessments, risk-based inspections, and root cause analyses of material failures.
✅ Review and develop specifications, procedures, and design documentation related to materials and corrosion.
✅ Interface with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment with project goals and industry standards.
✅ Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and best practices in corrosion engineering.
✅ Participate in audits, technical reviews, and field inspections as required.
✅ Support integrity management systems and recommend improvements for asset longevity.
Qualification Required for Materials and Corrosion Engineer
✅ Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
✅ Minimum 5 years of experience in materials and corrosion engineering, preferably within the energy or oil & gas sector.
✅ Strong knowledge of corrosion control techniques, metallurgical analysis, and inspection methods.
✅ Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., NACE, API, ASME).
✅ Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
✅ Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
