Job Description of SOC Resident Engineers L2 & L3
Key Responsibilities of SOC Resident Engineers L2 & L3
✅ Monitor and analyze security alerts and logs from various sources within the SOC.
✅ Respond to security incidents, perform in-depth investigations, and provide root cause analysis.
✅ Escalate complex security incidents to appropriate teams and coordinate response.
✅ Conduct proactive threat hunting and identify anomalies in the IT environment.
✅ Support the development and tuning of detection rules and SIEM use cases.
✅ Document incident response activities and prepare detailed reports.
✅ Assist with the implementation of cybersecurity best practices and policy compliance.
✅ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve security posture continuously.
Qualification Required for SOC Resident Engineers L2 & L3
✅ Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
✅ Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Security Operations Center or similar cybersecurity role.
✅ Strong knowledge of security monitoring tools, SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight).
✅ Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection tools.
✅ Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
✅ Relevant certifications (e.g., CEH, CompTIA Security+, SSCP, or SANS GIAC) are a plus.
